HENRY GEORGE (South Queensland) Since 1990 Henry has been Australia's most sucessful, breeder at a National level. In 2004 Henry was the first breeder admitted to the ANBC Breeders Hall of Fame with at that time, 23 firsts in National shows. Following the 2005 Nationals, the number increased to 25. This sucess has been achieved with 1st places in the following classes: Lutino (85, 94, 95 & 05), Yellow Face (85 & 91), Hens (87 & 89), Dominant Pied (88, 89, 93, 98 & 99), Normal Blue (90, 93 & 96), Normal Green (94, 95, 01 & 02), Spangle (00), Lacewing (01), Clearwing (02) and Opaline AOSV (05).
Henry has been appointed a Judge at the Nationals three times, naturally not being able to show at these events. He is looking forward to a good showing at this years Nationals in Tasmania
Henry's Stud is based in Mannes but also contains many English bloodlines including: Sadler, Attwood, Moffat, Binks, Pilkington, Snell, Sherman, Topliss, Watts, Wheeler, Norris, Wheatley and Cox. These lines have been blended over many years to form the super stud it is today.
Henry's aviary is a breeders dream, sitting on 40 acres of beautiful farmland in South East Queensland. Henry and his wife Dianne also own a superb stud of German warm-blood dressage horses.
The George's aviary measures 24 meters by 9 meters comprising: 7 flights, over 85 breeding cages, office, kitchen, sickroom, storeroom, Show training area and many display cabinets for trophies
The cages, flights and nest boxes are cleaned weekly. Wetfood and water is changed daily. Cage dimensions are 600 high x 1mtre wide x 500 deep with 3 perches, one square, one high round and one low round for nestfeathers to get used to perches early. Nest boxes are attached to the outside of the cages and are 20cm deep by 17 wide by 25cm long. The deep concave is removable for thorough cleaning at end of season.
